About This Project

This program began in between April and August 2019, with the help of Chamos Charity and Adventures of the Mind.

With the participation of 16 boys, girls, and adolescents from El Calvario community in El Hatillo municipality, it was agreed to transform a space named “The Alley of Colors”, a place that connects the alleys inside de Guevara Alley, and a ladder that leads to the main way that was initially an interstitial space where neighbors met to play games. 150 m2 were transformed incorporating the ideas chosen by the community, now the space has messages on the stairs, a climbing wall, vertical planters, a marbles and football court, a cover made with 120 colored bottles and two murals inspired by the pattern design of two students called «The mountains and the weather of El Calvario» and «The Cross of May». In this program more than 70 volunteers participate in addition to the neighbors of the sector who are the ones that maintain the vertical planters and the murals, and make sure of the proper use of the space.
