About This Project

This Tracing Public Space program had the participation of more than 10 invited children and the regular attendance of the selected participants, who throughout the different phases, showed a significant evolution in terms of leadership tools, oratory, and teamwork, which was reflected in the inauguration of the Paseo del Girasol.

In this project, together with the community, we transformed a space that was previously just a sand and grass field, now it has a labyrinth, chairs, benches, a slide, a climbing wall, handrails, and a colored bridge. It also was named «Paseo del Girasol» for the pattern designed by one of the participants and chosen by the community.

 The park is now an area for community gatherings, where children of different ages meet in the evenings and on weekends and the adults, for their part, play dominoes and sit down to rest.

This space has also been used to organize cultural activities such as the Christmas celebration of the soccer team and the election of the carnival queen.
