This program started in March 2018, where 16 boys, girls, and adolescents of 6th and 7th grade from Santa Teresita, Simon Rodríguez and Andrés Bello schools were able to participate and they selected Plaza Andrés Mata as a place with the potential to transform. After a year of hard work coordinating all the needs and with the support of the San Jose Foundation, the preliminary works were completed and more than 20 neighbors and volunteers collaborated to plant grass, collect stones, find sand, build the swings, and support with the construction of planters and benches throughout the 520 m2 of space. In the transformation phase, the participation and organization of the neighbors were vital, and the pre-school and 5th and 6th-grade students from nearby schools also accompanied us.
The inauguration of this space in November 2019 gave life to the square, turning it into a meeting space for all the residents of the area, who decorate it, clean it and take care of it regularly.
